Description
P2 Surgical Mask for sale
The Softmed P2 Particulate Cup Respirator is an Australian-made and manufactured 160mmHg surgical respirator, similar to the 3M 1860 Cupped Surgical Particulate Respirator.
This surgical P2 mask primarily protects healthcare workers by reducing exposure to harmful airborne particles that are small enough to be inhaled—typically less than 100 microns in size.
P2 Mask Fluid Resistance
This disposable particulate respirator limits exposure to airborne particles for both the wearer and those nearby. These particles include microorganisms, body fluids, and materials generated during electrocautery, laser surgery, or use of powered medical instruments. As a surgical mask, it also resists splashes and spatters of blood or other infectious substances.

Fit Testing
Before entering a potentially hazardous environment, select the appropriate mask style and size. Always perform a fit check to ensure a proper seal over the bridge of the nose and around the mouth, leaving no gaps that allow air to enter.
Procedure for putting on a P2/N95 face mask and conducting a fit check
- Place the mask on your face, making sure the nose piece is positioned at the top of the mask.
- Place the headband straps over your head with one being at the back of your head and the other at the base of the neck.
- Gently compress the metal nose piece against your nose to ensure a seal across the bridge of the nose.
- Compress the mask to ensure a seal across the cheeks and the face; and
- Conduct a fit check: check the seal of the mask by inhaling and checking if the mask is pulling towards the face. If not and air leaks around the face seal, readjust the mask and repeat the process or check for defects in the mask. If the mask still leaks you may need to try a different size or style of mask.
Note: Facial hair may prevent a proper seal. Shave before use to ensure effective protection.
Warning
A qualified person familiar with the working conditions and RPE limitations must select the correct Respiratory Protective Equipment (RPE). Before use, read and follow the manufacturer’s instructions carefully. Use P2/N95 masks only in compliance with AS/NZS 1715:2009 standards. Incorrect use may lead to illness or even death.
